Hi everyone!!!!
After nine glorious fantastic years of being at the Wynfordarms.com... I’m leaving!!!
I’ve been offered the general manager position at a fantastic top quality venue - Queer Bar in Manchester’s Canal St. Its a bit sudden and manic, but I’m off next Wednesday (13th) so my last day here at the Wynford will be Tuesday 12th August!
So, if you can make it on Tuesday, that would be great! Would like to say goodbye to all of you that have been to and supported the venue over the years, and I’m sure it’ll be a bit emotional! The Wynford will continue to be the best in Reading even when I’ve gone! We have a great team that will continue to look after you every day of the year! Business will continue as normal!..... top cabaret, top dj’s, top quiz masters, top bingo girls, quality bar staff, proper smoking areas and gardens!!!! Of course, if you’re in Manchester then please feel free to pop in and say hi. I will be truly sad to be leaving all of you and I’m sure I’ll pop back occasionally to say hi. And I would like to say a special thanks to team Wynford: Jason, Brendy, Treacle, Cliff, Penny and Andy who have been here for donkey’s years and have helped me and have made the Wynford so great!! And of course the bar crews from over the years: ryan, kieron, sam, ben, tom, stephen, kate, mark, joe, hazel, ian, josh, simon, micheal, Debbie, matt, chris, Darren, paul, harry, Vicky, Helena, dan, Daniel, al, Anthony, Lewis, scott, peter, Charlie, scott, james and beyond.......

Treacle: Have You Heard About Adrian?

I think most of you know this by now, but for those of you who don't, you had better sit down... Adrian is leaving the Wynford! Yes, you did read that right. He's off to pastures new, to pursue a great opportunity for him in Manchester. It's their gain, and our loss. And it's all happening a bit quick, if you ask me! Ade's last night at the Wynford is next Tuesday, 12th August! So we thought we should have a bit of a "do" for him. So come and join us then to say (a tearful) goodbye to the Best Bar Manager in Berkshire. Then all that's left to do is find out when he's catching the train to Manhester so we can line up at the station to throw rotten tomatoes and cabbages at him, cos he's a low down, dirty, rat bag of a @#£& for leaving us! That said, Ade, we're going to miss you very much and wish you all the best for your new job! :-)

Brendan: Brendy Land

Yo peoples Hows it hanging ? Well its been a funny few months in Brendy land ( not to be confused with planet Brendy. Two very different places!! ) My proper job has been keeping me busy as well as not one, but TWO whirl wind romances. But now Brendy is back on the meat market. So I'm looking for another lover right now for a quick snog and a grope in the dj box! That'll do. Well I'm away on Saturday nights for couple of weeks with work and the "big one", otherwise known as my favourite Pride of the year... (Reading aside) - Brighton - I cant wait for all that fun to be had and I may see a few of you there. So come say hi or if you see me slumped in a drunken possition on the floor somewhere just check im still alive! Lol! Well, I'll bid you "tara" for now see you all soon. I said taaaraaa xxx

Keiron: Bourne To Be Wild!

I've just had a great weekend. I went to Bournemouth on Saturday. Andy's chatting about that in his blog below. Don't believe a word of what he's saying. I'm sure it's all lies. Well maybe there's a little truth in it! Only 6 weeks to Reading Pride. I can't wait for that!

Andy: Beside The Seaside

The latest pride event I attended took place on Saturday - Bourne Free. So having the time off work, I decided to give it a try. Now, firstly, if you are ever taking Kieron on a train journey, I would suggest getting a kids activity pack (or some strong Valium) as he constantly moans "Are we nearly there yet?" Having arrived in Bournemouth, the next challenge was to find a hotel. Not an easy task on Pride day, but eventually I found one. Next, it was off to the pub to meet up with Adrian and Treacle. And so on to the parade. We found a nice collection of semi-clad men to follow around the route and then to the park for an afternoon of entertainment. With all the boyz drinking beer in an alcohol free area, the police just gave up and let everyone carry on drinking. As evening set in, we moved up to the street party with more cabaret acts on stage and a bar to keep us in the party spirit. Alas, it was time for the others to head home. Having missed one train it was important to the catch the last one of the day as it's a long walk home, especially after quite a few drinks. (I'll let Adrian and Treacle tell the story about the jouney home with Kieron another time!) So, as I bid them farewell, I settled down on the nearest wall to watch the acts. I'm not sure who they were as I was seeing double at this point, but I'm sure they were very good! Then, some fool sat next to me on the wall, swung their arms out and knocked me backwards. I ended up flat on my back, legs in the air for all to see! (No comments please!) But, I am glad to report, not a drop of beer was spilt. What a pro! I wouldn't have minded but he wasn't even a ginger cutie! (There's no justice in this world!) So I decided it was time to leave the street party and install myself firmly in a nearby bar with lots of near naked boyz. I was entertained for the reat of the night. There was even the obligatory giner cutie! (At last!) I will leave it to your imagination how I busied myself, but I left with a smile! :-) A good day out was had by all. ROll on the next Pride.
