New Team Members

The happy Wynford team grows ever larger as we welcome with open arms two new members of the team.

Firstly, is the lovely Ben, who some of you may remember worked here about 7 years ago (he doesn't look old enough, but it's true!) You'll be seeing a lot of Ben about the place, helping Adrian and Jason to keep everything ticking over and in running order. He's a very talented young man and a welcome addition to the crew.

Secondly, we introduce Tom, who'll be popping up here and there. You probably would have seen Tom on the dance floor making shapes like a pro. So we thought it was time to drag him off that podium and allow others a chance. So we've got him pulling pints instead.

You can checkout the profiles for Ben, Tom and all the Wynford crew by clicking on the Team tab at the top of the page. And for that personal touch you can checkout the team in the flesh, right here at the Wynford.

Adrian: Bank Hol Weekend

Adrian

Phew! What a great weekend! Friday we had Amber with her two cute male dancers bounding round the stage getting hot and sweaty. Saturday there were tears and joy at the very packed winnie awards 2008 ceremony. Sunday more tears of laughter with bingo extreme. (shandy trying to entice people in who were standing at the bus stop was bizarre) and solandra being blown about in the bingo machine was just mad!!!! And the free BBQ food got gobbled up quicker than keiron could cook it!!
All the pictures can be found on the gallery pages.
Cant wait for the next one!

Complicated Rubbish Dump

I’m totally useless at gardening and I hate DIY. I’m sure with more practice I would get better, but I would rather steer clear of the whole darn thing. Why? Cos I hate making a mess, that’s why. Making a mess can only lead to one thing….the rubbish dump. A place I avoid at all costs. Not only is it dirty and smelly, but now you need a first degree in logistics.

How complicated have they made rubbish disposal? Plastics over here, metal over there. Paper on this pile, clothing on that. Garden and food waste for composting, garden and food waste not for composting (I never realised there was a difference)
Electrical appliances here, glass over there. Now, I’m all for recycling but you need a 3 day training course just to work out where to throw some grass cuttings. Besides, what would become of parts of Oxfordshire if we didn’t have a need for landfill sites?

And now they’re opening in-door rubbish dumps so you can chuck out your old crap at night, in the rain, in the middle of winter and remain total warm, dry and suffocated by the trapped smell. I can’t be doing with all that. No, no, avoid the rubbish dump at all costs. Can anyone explain why there should even be a need to go to the dump when I have so many wheelie bins lined up outside my house these days! (Also, how much recycling do you have to do to offset the carbon footprint of making these big, sturdy PLASTIC bins??)

Meanwhile, my garden has a rustic, natural look about it. Overgrown chic is very in I’ll have you know. Time to put my feet up and ignore it for another day…
